Game developer Insomniac Games, owned by Sony, has announced that more than 1.3 million files totaling 1.67 TB have been compromised by ransomware group Rhysida, according to Cyber Daily.
In addition to Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine game files, Rhysida also leaked internal HR files and screenshots from the company’s Slack channel, including the contents of employee computers and publishing contract documents detailing Sony Interactive Entertainment’s agreement with Marvel to release two “X-Men” games, including Wolverine, between 2025 and 2033. The company acknowledged that the ransomware was a financially motivated attack specifically targeting Insomniac Games. “We were able to secure the administrator of domain 2025 within minutes of the network breach,” said a Rhysid spokesperson. – Rhysid spokesman.
